What is Kwik Account?

CIMB Bank Kwik Account is the first ever completely online account that allows you to open an account at your own convenience without having need to visit a branch. Activation is instant and no deposit is required. It immediately allows you to send and receive money by keying in email address or mobile number (instead of account numbers), transfer funds within CIMB, online shopping, pay bills, reload your prepaid, remittance and more.

It also comes with the option of having a physical card for Point-of-Sale purchases and ATM cash withdrawal at any CIMB and other Bank’s ATM with CIRRUS network. The card can be used at merchants worldwide that accepts Mastercard.

What can I do with a Kwik Account?

Immediately this account allows you to perform the following transactions at your own convenience:

  • Bill payment, prepaid reload, remittance, fund transfer within CIMB via CIMB Clicks
  • Online shopping
  • Transfer funds between friends and family members by keying in email address or mobile number

You can opt for Kwik card which can be used for:

  • Point-of-Sale purchases accepted via all Mastercard merchants worldwide or
  • Cash withdrawal via CIMB Bank’s ATM or any other Bank’s ATM in Malaysia or Overseas with a CIRRUS network

Is there any wallet limit for Kwik Account?

Yes. It is capped at RM4,999.00

Does Kwik Account support joint accounts?

No. At the moment, Kwik Account does not support joint accounts.

How do you verify my identity?

We verify your identity with the relevant consumer credit reporting agency/agencies or via other verification methods for your security and protection. We use this process to verify the information you send to us.

What is TAC?

TAC stands for Transaction Activation Code. It is a code used to verify transactions either via your mobile device in CIMB Clicks App, CIMB EVA App or through SMS to your registered mobile number in CIMB Bank’s record. Whenever you do a transaction with CIMB Clicks, we will prompt you to request for TAC using the said channels. Once you have received the code, you will need to key it in the transaction form. The transaction will then be confirmed and acknowledged. Each TAC is unique and it is needed to ensure that the transaction is indeed being done by you.

Will my personal information be shared with the people I send money to?

Yes. Your name and mobile number/email address will be shared with the recipient.

How do I add money into my Kwik Account?

You can top up money to your Kwik account via:

  1. CIMB Cash Deposit Machine
  2. Fund transfer from a CIMB Bank/CIMB Islamic account
  3. Interbank transfer from an account in another bank
  4. Financial Process Exchange (FPX) (from an account in another bank)

What can I do with my Kwik card?

You can use it like a credit card to purchase items, do online shopping and withdraw cash from ATMs. Without the physical card, you can still shop online. All you need are your card's CVV number and expiry date.

Will there be charges for using Kwik card?

No.

How do I pay for my Kwik card?

You can pay for your Kwik card via Kwik Account, CIMB Bank/CIMB Islamic current or savings account, and Financial Process Exchange (FPX) (this service allows you to pay from other bank accounts).

How long does it take to get my Kwik card?

It will take 14 days for the Kwik card to be mailed to your recorded address, upon successful payment of RM10.00.

Do I need to activate my Kwik card?

Yes, you need to activate your Kwik card by contacting the number printed at the back of the card or via SMS.

What is my CVV number?

Card Verification Value (CVV) is a three-digit code that allows a merchant to verify that you are the owner of the card. You can view your CVV number on the back of your Kwik card. The CVV is a method to prevent fraud.

What is my CVV number for?

It allows a merchant to verify that you are the owner of the card. You will also need this number and the card's expiry date for online shopping purposes.

If I don't have a Kwik card, can I know my CVV number and card expiry date?

You can find out your CVV number by going to Settings > Prepaid Card Settings > CVV Number Retrieval.

What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

You must notify CIMB Bank Card Centre at 03-6204 7788 immediately upon discovering that your card is lost or stolen and follow up with a written confirmation together with a copy of your police report to them.

How can I get the replacement for the card?

Replacement cards can be obtained upon request to the call center. There will be a replacement fee of RM10 for 1st time replacement and RM50 for subsequent replacements.

Why am I being charged RM200 instead of the amount of fuel pumped at outdoor petrol pump?

A pre-authorisation amount of RM200 is charged to the CIMB Bank Kwik Account for petrol purchases at the outdoor pump in petrol stations. The pre-authorisation amount will then be reversed and the actual amount will be charged to your CIMB Bank Kwik Account 2 days after the date of the said petrol transaction.

Will I be subject to Pre-Authorisation when I perform payments for hotels?

Where the Card is used to pay for hotel stay, the Bank shall also have the right to withhold an amount equivalent to the amount held by the relevant hotel during check- in to the relevant hotel for a maximum of eight (8) days.

Can I use my Kwik card overseas?

Yes.

Can I use my Kwik card for Contactless retail payment / transaction?

Your Kwik card is equipped with contactless feature. Whenever you see the Mastercard® contactless logo at the retailer or merchant's point of sales terminals, you can tap your card on the contactless reader. PIN or signature is not required for retail transactions below RM250.

How can I use my Kwik card for Contactless retail payment / transaction?

  • The retailer or merchant's point of sales terminals must be able to accept Mastercard® contactless payment.
  • Your PIN Kwik card has to be waved within 4cm or tapped at the contactless card reader and the Merchant must have first entered the transaction amount for you to approve.
  • Even if your Kwik card is accidentally tapped more than once, you will only get billed once for the transaction..
  • If you hold your card up to a reader and you have any other contactless payment cards nearby, the reader might detect more than once card and will not complete the payment..

You will need to perform the transaction again. Please ensure you only use the intended card from your wallet and have it tapped at the reader.

Is the Contactless payment / transaction method on my Kwik card safe?

Safeguards are in place to prevent unauthorised use of the intercepted card security details. Each contactless transaction includes a unique code that changes with each purchase, which can only be used once and can only be generated by the chip in your original contactless card, hence, this prevents a counterfeit card from being produced from the intercepted card security details.

Can I disable the Contactless payment / transaction method on my Kwik card?

If you wish to disable the Contactless payment / transaction method on your Kwik card, you can call us at +603-6204 7788 (local or overseas).

How will I be charged for the fees and charges?

For Kwik Card, customer can choose to pay through Financial Process Exchange (FPX), or direct debit from your CIMB Bank/CIMB Islamic current or savings account. Other than that, the rest of the fees are directly debited from your Kwik Account.

Where can I view my Kwik account number?

Log in to www.cimbclicks.com.my > select My Accounts > select Prepaid Card to view your Kwik account number.

I want to view my statement for my Kwik account. How do I do this?

You can view your eStatement under My Accounts > eStatement. You can also view Clicks only transactions for your account under My Accounts > Clicks Transaction History.

I want to close my Kwik account. How do I do this?

You can log on to CIMB Clicks, Go to Settings >Prepaid Card Settings > Account Closing.

Can I reset my password?

Yes, you can. Go to CIMB Clicks > Settings > Change Password.

Can I change my User ID?

You are not allowed to change your User ID.

How can I change my email address or mobile number?

Go to CIMB Clicks > Settings > My Data.

Can I link my current account / saving account to Kwik card?

No. This option is not available.

What are the affected Kwik Account services during this downtime?

Yes. You can have the remaining balance refunded to your CIMB Bank/CIMB Islamic bank savings/current account or Other banks’ savings/current account.
