What type of cards can I accept?
MyDebit cards that support contactless or wave based payments.

Do I need to have a CIMB account?
Yes, you’ll need to open a CIMB current account at any of our CIMB Branches.

Can I use Tap n Pay outside of Malaysia
No, Tap n Pay is meant to be used within Malaysia only.



How do I know if I am eligible for Tap n Pay? Can anyone apply?
In general, your business must be a legal business entity registered in Malaysia and business activity that does not contradict with the rulings of Bank Negara Malaysia. However, all applications are still subjected to approval of CIMB Bank on a case to case basis.

How do I apply for Tap n Pay?
Applying for Tap n Pay is easy:

1. Contact our Merchant Hotline at 03-6204 7733 or email emerchant@cimb.com
2. Complete the application form and submit the relevant supporting documents together with details on your business
3. Once the application is approved, user will be able to obtain User ID and PIN via e-mail activation.
4. Download the Tap n Pay mobile app and start accepting card payments

How do I download the Tap n Pay app?
The Tap n Pay mobile app is made available in Google Play Store.  Simply search for Tap n Pay by CIMB Bank using the search feature.

How do I activate the Tap n Pay app?
Step 1: Login into Merchant Portal with your Tap n Pay User ID and PIN received via e-mail.
Step 2: Download the Tap n Pay app from Google Play for Android.
Step 3: Launch Tap n Pay app and login with the approved User ID and PIN provided by the bank to start accepting payments.
